About Smida Jazz Festival
Smida best uncovers itself when jazz takes its form. When this happens, Smida becomes Smida Jazz Festival and it succeeds to keep its peace and even to increase it. When you hear the word festival, you tend to think about noise, agitation, but when the word Festival is placed near Smida Jazz, it means serenity and good vibes.

Our Public
This is what Smida offers to you. You, the one who goes to other festivals. Or the one who doesn’t use to go to festivals, but you come here as on vacation. You, who maybe you are a parent and you look for the best context to spend some quality time with your kids. You, who perhaps you have a pet, and you can’t attend most of the events because of this fact, but you are both welcomed at us. You, the one who loves nature and you know that it can be quite moody. You, the one who listens to music, not a genre/style in particular, because you always look for something new. You, the one who loves jazz and you can appreciate not only the classic jazz but also a different kind of jazz, the avant-garde jazz.

The Smida Jazz Experience
For three days here you do not only exist, but you live. You live everything, every little thing: waking up in the camping and stepping barefoot on the grass; watching (really watching) the sunrise and the sunset; walking on the village’s lanes like in childhood; taking a bath in the lake; exploring a cave; wandering in the woods; painting a ceramic or wood object; playing all kind of instruments; dancing in the first row, because this Smida jazz invites you to dance; reading in a hammock by yourself or reading out loud at a public lecture/book club…and everything…all in the name of exploring. Sounds. And nature.

Welcome to SMIDA!
Smida is a mountain village of Beliș, located right in the heart of Apuseni Nature Park, one of Europe’s last great size remaining carts regions (76.000 ha). The Naturel Park is also home to more than 1.500 caves, the closest of which is the Big Cave in the Valley of Fire. The Apuseni Nature Park is also back to underground glaciers, Scarisoara, and Focul Viu being two of the most important ones (roughly 40 km and 24 km, respectively, away from Smida).

Out loud and high up
The little village of Smida is located at the height of 1.100 meters on the right shore of Belis-Fantanele lake (from the festival area to the lake are almost 500 m). The wooden houses seem to be able to freeze time magically, and their appearance and the landscape will make you feel like you traveled back in time 100 years. So we would advise you that, on your way to the festival, to take a deep breath and to let nature to reconnect you with it and with yourself.

Social and environmental responsibility
We love nature and we are in love with Smida, so we take full responsibility of organizing the Festival here and we plan and organize it in a responsible manner. Therefore, our social and environmental strategy includes aspects as reducing the negative environmental impact. .
